Hackney has gone through a recent transformation into a borough with several super trendy hotspots, Shoreditch and Hoxton being of note, which provide a myriad of cultural events, restaurants and nightclubs. You will find luxury Victorian and Georgian houses interspersed with council blocks, and high streets attracting a yuppie population neighbouring with cultural areas steeped in history. Being located near the centre of London, Hackney has ample transport connections for commuters and students to use. While there are no tube stations in the borough, the London Overground operates the same working hours and service as the underground network. There are also the usual London bus routes throughout the borough.
