Last year StudentTenant.com announced they would be giving away a once in a lifetime trip to New York, in conjunction with the popular low-cost airline Norwegian Air. Today the winner of the competition has been announced, and she couldn’t be happier. Entrants were in with the chance of winning a four-night stay in New York for two, which is the largest prize the company have ever given away.

Entrants to win this year's huge prize were required to sign-up to the raffle online, and were offered the opportunity to boost their chance of winning by joining the Norwegian Reward Program, registering with StudentTenant.com or sharing the competition on social media. There were a record number of participants to the competition; totting up a total of 16,337 entries.

Nicole Ooi from University College London was randomly selected as the winner of the competition, and it set to head out to America this April. Nicole was invited down to the StudentTenant.com head office in Canterbury, where she celebrated her win with a glass of fizz with Managing Director Danielle Cullen, and the rest of the team.

Nicole told Managing Director Danielle Cullen about the moment she found out she had won the competition: “When I got the email, I was really surprised; I thought the winner had already been chosen! I had to make my sister check it for me. I was really surprised, who wouldn’t want to go to New York? I thought it was impossible.”

On what she was going to do in New York, Nicole told the StudentTenant.com team “I’ve planned all four days already. I have plans to visit the best restaurants in the city and I want to see a couple of musicals. I really want to try the best restaurants in New York - and I’ve been sharing them with all my friends so they can help me decide.”

She continued “I also want to see plenty of musicals whilst I’m over there. It’s been tough trying to decide which ones I want to see the most; I’ve had to rank them to help me choose. Dear Even Hansen, Waitress and Anastasia are the ones I really want to see whilst I’m in New York.”

StudentTenant.com worked very closely with Stephen Cooper from Norwegian during the competition who said “Students are always looking for great value and high quality, making them a perfect match for the affordable fares and great service Norwegian offer. Teaming up with a young, innovative company like StudentTenant.com was a great way for us reach key student audiences and let them know about the affordable fares we offer and the added savings and benefits they can access with our Reward programme. With low-cost fares to a range of exciting US destinations, and our Reward programme offering passengers even more benefits, Norwegian's flights are perfect for students planning an affordable transatlantic break. We were delighted to team up with Student Tenant and huge congratulations to Nicole Ooi for winning the competition - we look forward to welcoming Nicole on board Norwegian very soon.”

Comment from Danielle Cullen, Managing Director of StudentTenant.com:

“We really wanted to give something back to the students using our platform this year, so when the opportunity to work with Norwegian Air arose it was perfect. Being at university is about making memorable moments, and we wanted to become part of that for one lucky student. What better way to do that than have a trip to New York paid for you?

We’re really happy and excited for Nicole and we're confident she’ll have a brilliant time in New York. It was great to hear all of her plans whilst she is over there and we cannot wait to see some pictures of her adventures.

We’ve really enjoyed working alongside Norwegian Reward to offer such a tremendous prize, and we hope to continue to offer big incentives for those using our service in the future.
